BROWNVILLE — The Brownville Junction United Methodist Church School is holding its first Sunday School Rally from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 1, at the church. Theme of the rally is “Be There or Be Square.”

The purpose of the rally is to allow area children to register for Sunday School classes and to meet the Sunday School teachers. Regular Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

According to organizers of the rally, Sunday School Superintendent Betty Friend, “There will be lots of fun and many activities.” Homemade foods will be for sale. There also will be a plant table and a new-and-used table. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Sunday School materials and projects.

Friend said her teaching staff will include Roberta Wheeler, Sue Farrar, Karen Hartin and Sue Chaffee. Pastor of the church is the Rev. Ronald Chaffee.

Friend announced that parents and area residents should begin making plans to attend the Sunday School open house Sunday, Sept. 23. Plans for the open house will be announced later.
