The body of a New Jersey man was recovered Thursday from Echo Lake in Fayette after an apparent boating accident, a spokesman for the state Fish and Wildlife Department said.

Andy Kirby, 46, of Toms River, N.J., died late Thursday morning when his boat capsized, said spokesman Paul Fournier.

Kirby was fishing alone in the boat when it overturned, according to witnesses on the shore.

In Gray, a 46-year-old man from the Bronx, New York, was killed Thursday in an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle, Fournier said.

Anthony Joseph Hayes, who was visiting his son in Gray, had taken the vehicle out for a run near Blueberry Lane, Fournier said.

Hayes went over a hill, hit a culvert and was pinned beneath the vehicle.

Fournier said the victim’s head was lying in water and that it was possible he had drowned.
