The Old Town High School Class of 1985 will hold a reunion Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Old Town Elks Lodge. Social hour will begin at 7:30 p.m., with dancing to the music of Scott King from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per person, or $10 a couple. The first family reunion of the descendants of William John and Mary Jane Russell will be held Aug. 19 at the Toddy Pond residence of Jackie Morse, rain or shine. For directions, call 945-6805.

Alton “Pat” Paterson of Hampden will turn 86 on Wednesday, Sept. 5, and would like to hear from friends. Call him at 862-3352 or drop by on Wednesday afternoon and visit at his home at 437 Western Ave., Hampden.

Helen Wakefield of Dover-Foxcroft has been hospitalized at the Eastern Maine Medical Center for some time. She is about to undergo surgery for a second leg amputation. She is expected to be hospitalized for three to four weeks. A shower of get-well wishes to Room 564 would be greatly appreciated.

Kay Cross of Bradford, formerly a patient at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, is a patient at Brigham Women’s Hospital, Ward 12, Room 1A, 75 Francis St., Boston, Mass., where she is No. 1 on the list for a heart transplant. A shower of cards from friends and neighbors would help boost her morale.

Midnight, a 3-year-old, long-haired, black, female house cat needs a good home. She has been spayed and declawed. Her owner says she is very independent and quiet, but the owner must part with her because of allergies. Call 827-7295.

Three female purebred pit bull terrier puppies are free to good homes. Two are white with black patches and one is mostly black with a black mask. They were born Memorial Day, and the ears and tails have not been done. Also, does anyone have a wringer washing machine in good working condition? The annual Dow family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, at the East Dover Grange Hall. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Please bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. Also bring a place setting. Beans, rolls and drinks will be furnished.

The McLaughlin, Lyons, Caswell family reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Sno-Rovers Clubhouse in Medway. Bring a favorite casserole or dessert for a buffet-style meal. Also bring a place setting. Dinner will be served at noon. Bring a favorite recipe for the annual cookbook. Games, horseshoes, a hay ride and a Scotch auction will be held.

The 43rd annual Clark family reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, at the home of Winston Coombs in Livermore Falls.

The Eighth Air Force Historical Society will hold the 16th annual reunion of the Eighth Air Force from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, at the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev. This unit carried out the U.S. strategic bombing offensive against European Axis powers from bases in England during World War II.
