Bangor police are investigating a series of incidents involving “fictitious check cashing” that took place over the past few days.

Nine checks totaling $4,055 have been cashed over the last two days at various branches of Key Banks. The “counter-type” checks were from the Bangor Savings Bank. The names and account numbers did not match.

Sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday morning, the headlights were smashed on a dump truck parked at the construction site of the Fifth Street Middle School. Damage amounted to $50.
