AUGUSTA — A weekend State House ceremony marked the commissioning of eight new second lieutenants in the Maine Army National Guard.

The eight are graduates of the 33rd officer candidate class of the Maine Military Academy.

The new officers are: James Braley of Topsham, Ralph Conroy of Caribou, Joe Cowing of Dresden and Dwaine Drummond of Palermo. Also, Edwin Lee of Augusta, Richard Maguire of Gray, Jeffrey Mason of Bath and Frank Roy of Springfield.
