PRESQUE ISLE — The Aroostook Medical Center will hold a children’s health and safety fair from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Mantle Lake.

Children’s singer-songwriter Rick Charette will entertain the children with songs such as “I like Mud,” “Alligator in the Elevatvor,” “Where Do My Sneakers Go at Night” and others.

Joining Charette will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with McGruff the Crime Dog and other safety figures.

The Aroostook Medical Center’s pediatric staff will administer free sports fitness exams. There will be information booths dealing with health and safety issues with free handouts.

Free dinner will be served as part of the county’s best pizza contest, fruit juice and fruit cup desserts.

Free door prizes include fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, child safety seats and gift certificates.
