FALMOUTH — President Bush will attend a fund-raiser on Tuesday, Aug. 21, to benefit Gov. John R. McKernan’s campaign for re-election at the Woodland Country Club on Woods Road. The fund-raiser will feature a brunch with the president and other visiting dignitaries, and a golf tournament beginning around 12:30 p.m. Brunch guests contribute $1,000 per person to benefit the governor’s campaign committee, and golfers must make a $5,000 corporate contribution.
The president is expected to arrive at the club around 11:30 a.m. and is scheduled to depart sometime after 3 p.m. Other dignitaries slated to attend include: Nicholas Brady, treasury secretary; John Sununu, White House chief of staff; Michael Castle, governor of Delaware; and two of the president’s sons, George W. Bush and Jeb Bush.
