Ann P. Bradley, assistant associate administrator for human resources for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, will speak at a noon luncheon Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Pilots Grill.

Bradley will speak to Tuesday Forum, an organization for business and professional women, on “10 Years of Women in Aeronautics and Space.” Also at the luncheon, City Council Chairman Tom Sawyer will present Bradley with a key to the city.

Bradley has held her current position since January 1987. She began with NASA as a personnel management specialist in 1973.

In the interim, she has held several positions at NASA. Along the way, she was appointed a Princeton Fellow in public affairs and attended the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University through NASA’s executive development program, and later attended the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. She was the recipient of the Dryden Flight Research Center director’s award in 1978 and NASA’s exceptional service medal in 1982.

Bradley has dealt with difficult management issues, both before and after the Challenger tragedy.

Her speech is part of Tuesday Forum’s monthlong observance of its 10th anniversary. Other speakers scheduled to speak at September luncheons, all at the Penobscot Inn, are:

Sept. 4: Sharon Greenleaf, chief financial officer at Eastern Maine Development Corp., and the Rev. Alta Brown, president and founder of Penobscot Valley Pastoral Counseling.

Sept. 11: Dr. Sue Stevens, D.O., owner of Carmel Health Clinic, and Maureen Evans, provost of Husson College.

Sept. 25: Anne O’Reilly, assignment editor at WLBZ-TV, and Jane Saxl, Bangor city councilor.

A limited number of tickets to the luncheon featuring Bradley is available to the public at $12.50 apiece by calling Dawn Baumer at 1-800-312-0399.
