Post office consolidating mail routes

Effective this week, the Bangor Post Office is implementing changes affecting many of the delivery routes in the city of Bangor, according to Robert Brydon, superintendent of delivery.

The changes are designed to make mail delivery more efficient while minimizing disruption to postal customers, he said.

The Bangor Post Office is consolidating some delivery routes, and carriers are learning the route changes. Postal customers may experience some adjustments in their regular mail delivery.

The route changes are part of the Bangor Post Office’s mandate to reduce the overall cost of service while ensuring an adequate level of service is maintained, said Brydon.

“The postal service greatly appreciates the patience and understanding of their customers during the short-term transition,” he said.
