David Alberts, 22, a Hudson volunteer fireman, will undergo surgery Wednesday morning for injuries he sustained in an ATV accident last Friday in Hudson.

The Hudson Fire Department and Penobscot County Firemen’s Association have requested that persons capable of donating blood for Alberts’ recovery make arrangements to do so with the American Red Cross center in Bangor, according to Hudson Fire Chief Ron Grant.

Alberts needs O-positive blood, though other blood types may be accepted.

Persons wanting to donate should call Martha Wildman of the American Red Cross at 941-2900 from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, or stop by the center at those times.
