DAYS ACADEMY GRANT — A Jackman man was hospitalized Thursday with head injuries he received in a motorcycle accident in this small unorganized township on the north end of Moosehead Lake.

Dean Gardiner, 29, was in serious condition Thursday at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was transported from the Charles A. Dean Hospital in Greenville.

According to Cpl. Paul Davis of the Maine State Police, Gardiner was found near the overturned motorcycle by a passing motorist. Davis said Gardiner had lost a substantial amount of blood.

Davis said it appeared that Gardiner had been traveling too fast, lost control of the 1983 Suzuki motorcycle, and rolled the vehicle over.
