CONCORD, N.H. — A New York state couple bought the winning ticket drawn Wednesday night in the nearly $6 million Tri-State Megabucks game for New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.
Steven and Leona Bolash of Monroe, N.Y., bought the prize ticket, worth $5.8 million or $290,000 a year before taxes, Sweepstakes Commission Executive Director Jim Wimsatt said Thursday.
Wimsatt said the Bolashes, married 21 years, will get a check this afternoon for $232,000.
Steven Bolash is a custodian at a junior high school in Washingtonville, N.Y., and his wife is a secretary for that state’s Air National Guard, Wimsatt said.
The ticket was bought at the Deep Meadow Variety Store in Exeter, said game spokesman Dave Long.
The winning numbers were 6, 11, 23, 26, 33, 37.
Players who matched three, four or five of the six winning numbers won $170,000.
