ORONO — Former University of Maine basketball coach Peter Gavett is scheduled to open a sandwich shop on Mill Street.

During its Aug. 19 meeting, the Planning Board accepted a site plan presented by Gavett and his wife, Shelley, to open the shop at 18 Mill St., where Hillson Cleaners currently is located.

According to the minutes of the meeting, the shop would be similar to Everybody’s, a former Orono establishment, and would serve Italian sandwiches, other sandwiches and salads.
