Five-week sessions of children’s theater classes will begin Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Northern Conservatory of Music and the Performing Arts, 96 Harlow St., Bangor.

Classes in Creative Dramatics I, for 5- to 7-year-olds, will be held 4-5 p.m., while 8- to 10-year-olds will meet 5-6 p.m for Creative Dramatics II. The cost of each five-week session will be $25 plus a $5 registration fee.

Director of the theater classes is Tom Logan, who began the classes in 1988. Logan has an extensive background in theater, and studied dance in England and at the Polly Thomas School.

The classes incorporate puppetry, self-expression, creative movement, characterization, improvisation, storytelling and pantomime.

The classes are not intended to replace what children receive in school or other programs. Logan has always said that he hoped the children would be able to use what they learn when they participate in school plays and similar events.

For information or registration, write the conservatory or call 947-8171.
