WINDSOR — “Planting in the Dust” will be the keynote presentation at the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association Common Ground Country Fair at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Windsor Fairgrounds.

The play is produced by the Land Stewardship Program of Minnesota and is the story of a young farm woman who has retured to the land her great-grandparents homesteaded. Peg Sheldrick of Lincoln, Neb., expresses the feelings of the character, Annie, for her family’s land and farming problems in today’s world.

The fair will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 21 to 23, and will include demonstrations of traditional arts such as felt-making, light ship-basket weaving, dying of sheep’s wool, making compost, and foraging for wild plants. Children can learn traditional games, how to identify animal tracks or be part of the garden parade.

Tickets may be bought in advance and are available in many areas throughout Maine. The fair is staffed by volunteers and additional people are needed to help in all areas.
