The ninth annual United Bikers of Maine Toys for Tots run will be held Sunday, Sept. 9. Bikers from throughout the state will gather at various locations and ride in groups to the Augusta Civic Center.

Working in conjunction with the Salvation Army, United Bikers of Maine gathers bikers for the largest motorcycle event of the year in Maine.

Last year, 7,500 motorcyclists participated and more than $50,000 worth of toys were donated.

For bikers in eastern and northern Maine, the meeting place in Bangor this year is Bass Park. The meeting time for those who want to ride to Augusta is 8 a.m., with departure time at 8:30 a.m.

Riders will travel on Route 2 from Bangor to Newport and stop at the Gateway Restaurant. They will leave the Gateway at 9:30 a.m. and travel to Skowhegan, where they will depart for Waterville at 10:30 a.m. via Route 201 and will stop at Elm Plaza. At 11:30 a.m. they will leave for Augusta via Interstate 95 to join up with bikers at the Augusta Civic Center.

All motorcyclists and clubs are invited to join in the run at any of the above locations.
