Entries are being sought for the annual Homebrew and Home Winemaking Competition at the Common Ground Country Fair in Windsor.

The competition is open to all amateur beer and wine makers from maine and throughout New England.

Wines will be judges at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Beer judging starts at 1 p.m. on the same day. In addition to first, second and third place ribbons, prizes will be awarded this year to Best of Show and runner-up.

The categories for beers include all styles; for wines, sweet or dry, including hard cider, meads and cordials.

Required in the competition are two 12-ounce bottles for beer and one regular bottle of wine. Upon registration, all labels and identifying marks must be removed. A small entry fee is charged, $1 per entry, to cover the costs of mailing ribbons and scoresheets.

Drop-off sites have been arranged throughout the state. For the nearest drop-off site, or further information, call 832-6286.
