PITTSFIELD — “What day do the photo license people come?” is the most frequently asked question at the Pittsfield Town Office, according to Town Manager Dwight Dogherty.
And inevitably, he said, people ask a day after they’ve been there and it will be a month before they return.
In hopes of alleviating the problem, Dogherty has announced the following dates to help local residents stay informed of the state services available to them at the Town Office.
On the second Friday of each month, representatives of the Department of Motor Vehicles set up in the meeting rooms at the Municipal Building to process new and renewed photo licenses, and to do address and name changes for licenses and photo identification. Clerks are available from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Maine Job Service conducts office hours from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, at the Pittsfield Town Office.
On the second Thursday of each month, representatives from the Department of Human Services process applications for food stamps and Aid to Families with Dependent Children. Clerks are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Workers from the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program, are at the Pittsfield Town Office on Mondays by appointment.
Additional information on these services and confirmation of the days and times available are available by calling the Town Office at 487-3136.
