GOP fund-raiser awards lobsters to three winners

PRESQUE ISLE — Dan Lee of Presque Isle was the winner of 25 pounds of lobster at the Aroostook County Republican Committee lobster draw held Thursday, Aug. 30.

Other winners at the drawing were Mary Richards of Mars Hill who won 15 pounds of live lobsters, and Georgia Dicker of Presque Isle who won 10 pounds.

Scott Carlin, manager of the Star City IGA, drew the winning tickets at the IGA attended by several local Republicans. Present were: Mary McBride representing district 142; Emmett Porter, a candidate for District 144; James Donnelly, a candidate in District 143; and Bob Ashby, county chairman.

The activity for a total of 50 pounds of live lobster was a fund-raiser conducted throughout Aroostook County. Profits from the activity will be used to support the Aroostook County candidates in their campaigns for election in November.

An additional drawing for a dinner for two at the Northeastland Hotel in Presque Isle was won by Bryce Johnston of Washburn. The dinner donated by the Northeastland Hotel was the prize offered at the Republican booth at the Northern Maine Fair.
