The Husson Homecoming celebration will feature a public jazz concert, sports events, and tributes to prominent alumni.
The opening will be a public jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Newman Athletic Complex, with Tom Gallant and the All Stars. The sextet plays a repertoire of New Orleans, Chicago, traditional Dixieland and swing.
From 9:30 to noon Saturday, there will be registration at Peabody Hall, followed by a welcoming address by Husson President William H. Beardsley; Sports Hall of Fame induction; interfraternity softball games with students and alumni; and a tree-planting.
Saturday afternoon events will include an awards luncheon; a soccer game between Husson and the University of Maine at Farmington; a tennis tournament; a women’s soccer game with UMF; a social hour; and a testimonial dinner for Clara Swan, Class of 1933, in recognition of a lifetime of service to the college and the community.
A soccer game between Husson varsity and alumni will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.
