LOIS RODRIQUE has been named regional sales representative in the Bangor area for Portland Glass. A resident of Brewer, Rodrique joined Portland Glass in 1989 as a customer service administrator in the Waterville store. She was previously employed as junior accountant at Kennebec Valley Regional Health Agency.
MARY E. PERRY has been promoted to Bangor area sales representative for A-P-A Transport Corp. A resident of Hampden, Perry previously worked for two years in the company’s Bangor truck terminal.
WALTER KANE has joined the management team at Grant’s Dairy, which has offices in Bangor, Ellsworth and Belfast. Kane formerly was employed by Hancock County Creamery. He was with that company until it was sold, and held many positions, including general manager.
HEATHER McCARTHY has joined IZME advertising of Ellsworth as copy writer and office manager. A 1990 graduate of the University of Maine with a master’s degree in composition, McCarthy previously worked as a copy writer at WQCB-FM in Brewer.
HERBERT R. DOTEN has been elected vice president for the northern region of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Doten is executive vice president of Kleinschmidt Associates, a Pittsfield engineering firm. He lives in Augusta.
ROBERT POTTS has joined the staff of radio station WHMX in Lincoln as program director. He previously worked for an Ellsworth station, where he served as evening personality and promotions director. Potts also has worked for stations in Bangor and Portland.
NANCY MILLS of Skowhegan recently was elected president of the Somerset County Bar Association. She is the first woman to serve as president of the organization. Mills is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Maine School of Law.
R.M. Davis Inc., a registered investment advisory firm in Portland, has appointed STEPHEN D. POULOS as vice president for research. Poulos was formerly employed as vice president and manager of investments at Maine National Bank in Portland.
DANIEL B. COFFEY has been elected president of the Maine Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Coffey serves as chief financial officer of Eastern Maine Healthcare in Bangor. Coffey has been on the association’s board for four years, and last year was the president-elect.
The Lucerne Inn has announced the appointment of CARL R. JOHNSON to the position of executive chef. Before joining the inn, Johnson was executive chef at the Coonamessette Inn in Falmouth, Mass. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Conn.
DAVID E. ALLEY has been named manager of the Hampden branch of Fleet Bank. Alley, who joined Fleet in 1984, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Machias. He lives in Bangor with his wife, Donna, and their three children.
CHRISTINE A. SWEENY, has been appointed administrator of Ross Manor and the Rosscare Taylor division of Eastern Maine Healthcare. Sweeny comes to Bangor from The Courville Co. in New Hampshire, where she was vice president of operations and corporate development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health services from Ithaca College and is a licensed nursing home administrator.
Searsport Drug has hired BRIAN J. SMITH as medical equipment coordinator. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Smith received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Husson College.
DIANNE E. SANDS, pic has joined the outpatient treatment division of Affiliated Chemical Dependency Services. A licensed substance abuse counselor, Sands has 15 years of experience in treating chemical dependency.
DAVID W. CASE has earned the 1989 Multi-Line Agent of the Year award from the Horace Mann Cos. A resident of Old Town, Case is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University. He is an associate manager and senior account executive for the insurance firm, which he joined in 1980.
W.C. Ladd & Sons has appointed SCOTT SIMMONDS, pic as manager of its Belfast branch. Simmonds holds a degree in marketing from Babson College. A certified insurance counselor, he previously was an account executive in Ladd’s Rockland headquarters.
LAWRENCE E. MERRILL, no pic has opened a law office at 26 Columbia St., Bangor. A graduate of Amherst College and the New York University School of Law, Merrill has practiced in Bangor since 1969. Former secretary of the Penobscot Bar Association, he lives in Bangor with his wife, Rachel.
GARY R. COLLINS has been appointed manager of the Orono branch of Bangor Savings Bank. Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Machias. He has 12 years of banking experience, most recently with Machias Savings Bank.
Georgia-Pacific Corp. has hired REINO RANTA, as a project engineer at its pulp and paper division in Woodland. Ranta holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology from the University of Maine.
MELANIE RUDOLPH, has joined the staff of the Thomas School of Dance in Bangor, where she will teach ballet, jazz and musical theater. Rudolph graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in the performing arts. She lives in Bangor.
