CAMDEN — Former SAD 28 music curriculum coordinator John Gelsinger, 41, of Rockland has been charged with gross sexual assault of a minor female student.
The charge was filed on information in Knox County Superior Court on Wednesday.
On Friday, Gelsinger is expected to request the court to waive the right to present the case to the grand jury and enter a plea to the charge.
The information document charged that Gelsinger engaged in a sexual act on Oct. 12, 1989, with a female under the age of 18.
Gelsinger had “instructional, supervisory or disciplinary authority” over the SAD 28 student. SAD 28 administers schools in Camden and Rockport.
Gelsinger resigned from SAD 28 schools in December 1989, after five years in the school district.
