JACKSON VILLAGE — Peter Marbach will present a slide show and talk on his hiking experiences to members of the Monroe Sportsmen’s Club at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the home of Ed and Molly Hamel in Jackson Villege. The public is invited.
Marbach has hiked more than 5,000 miles for various causes during the last three years, including a 2,150-mile jaunt along the Appalachian Trail for refugees in Maine; the length of Great Britain to benefit the Winant-Clayton International Exchange Program; and the Pacific Crest Trail from the Columbia River to Foresteer Pass in the High Sierras with his wife, Lorena Sprager, last year.
Marbach is coordinator of the Campaign for Unity at Unity College and has been appointed development officer for the college, known for its environmentally focused programs.
A hike and knapsack picnic will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, beginning at the home of Jan and Dana Andrews at Aborn Hill, Knox.
