After a weeklong search, Bangor police arrested Francis Denty, 20, transient, and charged him with burglary and assault.
According to police reports, Denty used to reside at 143 Broadway, where he repeatedly harassed his neighbor, Jet Uls. Denty entered, without invitation, Uls’ apartment last week and proceeded to turn over furniture and other items. He later grabbed Uls by the neck. Denty left the apartment shortly thereafter and Uls escaped serious injury, according to the report.
William Harnish, 21, 21 Sunset Blvd., Bangor, was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
An office worker in the Coe Building, 61 Main St., Bangor, reported to Bangor police that someone entered her desk and stole her purse while she was occupied downstairs. The thief made off with several charge cards and petty cash.
An employee of Wickes Lumber on outer Hammond Street in Bangor got his sweater pulled over his head and a punch in the mouth Thursday, after he sold merchandise to a customer.
Police reports indicate that Donald Carroll, 56, of Stetson became angered when co-worker Arnold Christopher, 40, of Garland sold items that Carroll intended to sell to his client. Police were unable immediately to speak with Carroll, but later sheduled a time for him to explain his actions.
Kurt Ferguson, 307 Lincoln St., Bangor, reported to police Thursday afternoon that someone stole $400 worth of tools from the back of his pickup truck. He told police the tools included assorted wrenches and screwdrivers.
A Bangor woman reported to police Thursday that while she was in the YMCA on Hammond Street someone stole almost $230 from her purse. Police reports said that the purse was located in an unlocked locker in a downstairs workout room.
Brewer police issued a warning Thursday that a vehicle containing two men in their middle to late 20s pulled up beside two young boys playing on South Main Street and attempted to coax the youngsters into the car. Police said that a car of the same description was involved in a similar incident earlier in the day at South Paris.
According to a description supplied by the boys, the vehicle involved was a small or medium-size dark blue four-door sedan with at least two apparently new dents on the driver’s side, along with some gray primer paint.
Police said that the youngsters involved in both the Brewer and South Paris incidents resisted the attempts to lure them into the automobiles.
