HARRINGTON — The SAD 37 board of directors has hired William Layman of Harrington as athletic director of the district’s elementary schools and Ronald Ramsay of Addison as director of the Adult Education Program at Narraguagus High School.

Layman, who is employed as a teacher of eighth grade at the Daniel W. Merritt Elementary School in Addison, will receive a stipend of $1,188 for the elementary athletic directorship during 1990-91. Layman served as elementary athletic director during the 1989-90 school year in SAD 37.

Ramsay, who is employed as a science teacher at Narraguagus High School, will receive a stipend of $2,500 for directing the adult-education program during the current school year. As adult-education director, Ramsay succeeded John T. Plummer of East Machias, the former principal of Narraguagus High School, who also served last year as director of adult education.
