Shane Doughty scored two goals and Evan Roberts’ goal with 14 seconds in the first half broke a 2-2 tie to lead the host John Bapst Crusaders to a 4-2 victory over Searsport in schoolboy soccer action at the Eastern Maine Technical College field in Bangor Thursday.

Ryan Smith added the other goal for Bapst. Dorian LeBlanc made 12 saves on 19 shots for the winners, 2-6.

For Searsport, 2-5-1, Seth Brown had a goal and an assist while Melvin Grant added a solo goal. Jason Krienke stopped 9 of 28 shots.

MDI 2 Sumner 1

At Mount Desert, John Fitzgerald scored two second-half goals to lift the Mount Desert Island Trojans to the victory over Sumner of East Sullivan.

Fitzgerald scored on a penalty kick and then from an Ernie Lawford assist as the Trojans brought their record to 2-6-1.

MDI goalkeeper Todd Wagstaff posted 9 saves on 19 shots.

Sumner, 4-4-0, got its goal from Brian Snowden, assisted by John Merchant. Tigers goalie Roy Warren had 10 stops on 17 shots at goal.

George Stevens 4, DI-S 0

At Deer Isle, four players had goals as the George Stevens Eagles of Blue Hill posted their eighth win without a loss. Shawn Murphy, Harley Slavin, Greg Maranik and Scott Ingalls scored for GSA.

GSA goalminder Brian Willey had 5 saves on 7 shots.

Tony Bray posted 12 saves on 16 shots for the 3-5 Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners.

Ellsworth 3, Nokomis 1

At Newport, Nils-Jorgen Ohre scored a pair of second-half goals, including a penalty kick, to power the Eagles to a come-from-behind win.

Brian Shedeck added an unassisted goal for the Eagles, who improved to 6-3. Goalie Bob Perry made 5 saves, facing 11 shots.

For Nokomis, 3-5-1, Don Day scored on a loose ball in front of the net in the first half. Goalie Jake Hughes made 7 saves, facing 14 Ellsworth shots.

Nokomis won the JV game 3-2 in overtime.

Orono 1, Hampden 0

At Orono, the Red Riots recorded their seventh win of the season against one loss behind a goal by Khoi Bullion. Bullion booted home the second-half goal five yards in front of the net when he rebounded a 25-yard shot by Kyle Churchill.

Goalie Mitch Stone made 1 save on 1 shot for the winners.

For Hampden, now 3-1, netkeeper Joel Smith made 4 saves on 5 shots.

PCHS 2, Dexter 1

At Guilford, Brian Miles scored off a direct kick with 10:09 remaining in the game to lift the Piscataquis Community High School Pirates to victory.

James Oldfield added a goal, off a Chad Graffam assist. Also for the 5-3-1 Pirates, goalkeeper Chad Kimball made 8 saves on 14 shots.

For Dexter, winless in eight games, Darren Clukey scored the goal while Alan Fern made 8 saves on 19 shots.

MCI 4, Central-EC 0

At East Corinth, Glenn Smith scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Maine Central Institute to the win over the host Red Devils.

Scott Morin scored one goal and assisted on both of Smith’s. Andrew McCaw had an unassisted goal for the 6-2 winners while Jeremy Hamlin stopped 11 of 18 shots.

For Central, 1-9-1, David Green made 13 saves on 20 shots.
