ROCKLAND — A studio workshop on hand-painted photography will be taught by Elaine Tselikis and Concetta Domenico from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Farnsworth Museum. The workshop is being given in conjunction with the current exhibition at the museum titled, “Beyond Black and White: Contemporary Hand-painted Photographs.”
Tselikis and Domenico, both of Portland, have experimented widely with alternative process and hand-painted photography. In their hand-painted work, they use a range of material from traditional photo oils and pencils to enamel paint, nail polish and thick oil sticks.
Both artists studied photography with Rose Marasco at the University of Southern Maine. They share a darkroom and studio in Portland and have exhibited their work throughout the country.
The workshop fee is $30 for museum members, $35 for non-members. Participants must bring their own black and white work prints to color. All other materials will be provided.
For more information, call the museum.
