Thomaston Center plans five-week series of Saturday children’s classes

THOMASTON — The Early Outreach Program will present a series of “hands-on” courses for youngsters on five consecutive Saturday mornings starting Oct. 13, at the Thomaston Center of the University of Maine at Augusta.

Each class invites young people to explore learning in a refreshing, exciting and challenging environment. Discounts are available for those with more than one child enrolled.

The schedule includes: Stop, Look and Listen for Stories, grades one-three with Nancy Devine; art sampler (pottery, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture), kindergarten-first grade and grades two-three, with Ellen Berry; acting, grades four-six and grades seven-nine, with Foner Curtis; science sampler (world of nature, pendulums, batmobile, observing and collecting insects, Mr. Wizard physics), grades one-three and grades four-six; magic (all new tricks), grades four-eight, with Rick Bernard.
