I am writing in response to the article on day-care providers that appeared in the Sept. 25 edition of the Bangor Daily News. You stated in the article that the one center in Ellsworth which provided care for 45 children, closed, leaving the city without a professional day-care center.

I wish to clarify that statement which was incorrectly reported. There is, in fact, a highly professional and successful day-care center located on Cross Street in Ellsworth. It is housed at Action Opportunities Inc.’s administrative offices and has been in operation since 1980….
