BANGOR DAILY NEWS (BANGOR, MAINE

Keep an eye on TV Watch

Not everyone has a satellite dish, cable or VCR. TV Watch (a weekly feature of the Bangor Daily News) is very strange. Rarely does it have programs as listed, especially Channel 7 — they are 25 years old and fading fast.

Is it possible everyone can stand when “To be announced” means Hawthorne Productions, which are: How to be thin, rich and a good cook and stop smoking and become beautiful? All mainly impossible.

Of course, it is advertising and big bucks. I’m not a couch potato, but I do see certain shows and movies which would be a treat — instead, “Star Trek” up to the armpits, over and over. The movie of the week is usually changed, except, of course, when there are football games, etc. Heaven forbid. They are always on as scheduled. Religious shows are only to reap large sums in a very fanatic fashion. I wonder if winter will be worse?

Channel 7 is also off the air a lot. Trouble in paradise? Joan Jasper East Machias
