GORHAM – The host University of Southern Maine Huskies won two games over the weekend, defeating the University of Lowell of Lowell, Mass., 4-1 Sunday and beating Southeastern Massachussets University of North Dartmouth, Mass., 1-0 in overtime on Saturday, here in men’s soccer action.
On Sunday, Julie Bernier, Christine Arsenault, Tiffany Dickinson and Ethel Struck each scored a goal for the 12-1 Southern Maine Huskies. Kim Shaw made 5 saves on 8 shots.
For the 3-10-2 Lowell Chiefs, Ruth Benoit made 13 saves on 26 shots.
On Saturday, USM’s Bonnie Brown scored the only goal of the game on a penalty stroke with 2:28 left in overtime to key the win for the Huskies.
Kim Shaw made 5 saves on 8 shots for the Huskies.
Beth Brooks saved 12 of 21 shots for 7-2-2 Southeastern Massachussetts.
