Two out-of-state women were in Penobscot County Jail Sunday night after they were arrested in Bangor Saturday and charged with arson.
State police made the arrest Saturday afternoon and reported that the women were charged in connection with a fire that destroyed a mobile home on Route 178 in Bradley on Friday.
There was little information available Sunday night. The two women, Kim Shoenherr, 19, of Austin, Texas, and Marisa Myers, 21, of Greenville, Miss., were being held at the jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department confiscated 17 marijuana plants Saturday night from a wooded area located off Ohio Street in Glenburn. Deputy Douglas Poor said a bird hunter came across the plants at about 3 p.m. Poor said the plants were about eight feet tall and had a street value of about $17,000. Poor said most marijuana plants have already been harvested. Poor said some growers like to let the plants sit through one frost in order to increase the level of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) the physiologically active liquid that is the chief intoxicant in marijuana.
Michael Clowes, 22, 96 First St., Bangor, was summoned by Bangor police and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle. Police reported that Clowes was allegedly involved in the theft of a CB radio Wednesday night from a car parked at the Holiday Inn on Main Street in Bangor.
Paul W. Roy Jr., 25, 16 Union St., Bangor, was arrested Sunday in Bangor and charged with being a habitual offender. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 19.
James J. Brown Jr., 22, 110 Pearl St., Bangor, was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with assault after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the face. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
Crystal Atchinson, 23, Carlisle Hall, Husson College, Bangor, was arrested in Bangor Friday night and charged with criminal trespass after she allegedly refused to leave the 7-Eleven convenience store on Ohio Street. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 19.
Jose Macias, 21, Charleston, was arrested early Friday morning on State Street in Bangor and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to show proof of insurance. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
Terri L. Kovac, 28, 619 Finson Road, Bangor, was arrested in Bangor Saturday morning and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 19.
Lamont Ramey, 31, Milford, was arrested in Bangor on a warrant charging failure to appear in district court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
Annette Farina, 26, 200 Hancock St., Apartment 603, was arrested in Bangor and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 19.
Allen Hartsell, 29, 98 Cumberland St., was charged with violation of privacy after he allegedly spent part of Saturday evening peeping in windows of homes on Spring Street. He was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 13.
Joseph M. Samra, 21 296 Union St., Bangor, was arrested Saturday night at Hoyt Cinemas and charged with possession of burglary tools. Police reported that Samra was using a flashlight to see inside vehicles parked in the parking lot. Police stopped to question Samra and reportedly found that he had a coat hanger and three screwdrivers. Samra was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Nov. 19.
A man staying at the Scottish Inn in Bangor reported to Bangor police that someone broke into his car and stole a rear window louver, a CB radio and a radar detector. The stolen items were valued at $150.
Bangor police confiscated six potted marijuana plants from Mount Hope Cemetery during the weekend.
Kenneth Rosie, 23, 682 Ohio St., Bangor, was arrested in Brewer and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
A 37-year-old Brewer woman was arrested by Cpl. Daryl Massey of the Brewer Police Department on Sunday after she allegedly drove erratically through Brewer and failed to stop for a police officer. Massey received a report that Sally Wheelden, 37, of 49 Washington St., Brewer, was at Burke’s Exxon and was pulling out in front of cars and appeared to be trying to cause an accident. Massey located Wheelden, but as he got out of his car to approach her she allegedly threatened to run over him. She then reportedly took off and drove down South Main and got onto Interstate 395. Massey pursued her and Sgt. David MacDonald set up a roadblock off exit 6A. Wheelden reportedly tried to turn around when she saw the roadblock and stopped with the front of her car pointed down an embankment. She refused to roll down her window and locked all of her car doors, Massey reported, and he was forced to break a car window to get her out of the car. She had left the car in gear and when she got out of the car it went down over the embankment.
Wheelden was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was charged with driving to endanger and failure to give her correct name to a police officer.
