DURHAM, N.H. – Jason Charles scored with 24:11 left in the game to give the University of Maine a 1-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire and clinch a spot in the North Atlantic Conference playoffs here Saturday in men’s soccer action.

Gary Crompton made the assist on Charles’ goal for the 12-3 Black Bears. In goal, Marshall White notched his eighth shutout of the season for a school record. White stopped 2 of 3 shots.

For the 4-15 Wildcats, Eric Swinson made 2 saves on 10 shots.
