WASHINGTON — Heather Campbell of Washington, a graduate of Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro, has received an award from the Harold Grodinsky Scholarship Fund administered by the Maine Department of Education.

The award is given each year to a member of the freshman class at the University of Maine who is a resident of the state and who shows a high level of financial need. The criteria used to select recipients is that of the Maine Student Incentive Scholarship Program and other criteria normally used to determine financial need.

Harold M. Grodinsky was an education specialist in the Maine Department of Education and the first administrator of the Maine Student Incentive Scholarship Program.
