Coastal A, Cape stop Hampden
YORK – Coastal A of Brunswick and Cape Elizabeth each defeated Hampden Sunday in the under-12 division of the Maine State Youth Soccer Tournament. In the first game, Rich Chester and Mark Gilbride scored to lead Coastal A, 7-6-1, to a 2-1 victory. Goalie Nate Crooker made four saves on nine shots. For Hampden, Aaron Peppard scored the goal and Dustin Campbell made five saves on 12 shots. In the second game, Brian Robinson and John Brownell scored to key a 2-1 victory by Cape Elizabeth, 8-3. Goalie Mike Wageman stopped four of seven shots. Ryan Janicki scored for Hampden, 4-3-1, and Campbell saved two of six shots.
Razzles defeat Voyage
Mike Dube, Dave Higgins and Justin Frizzel scored a goal apiece as the Razzles defeated the Voyage 3-0 in a Bangor YMCA/Parks and Recreation Youth Soccer game at Bangor Saturday. The Razzles finish the season undefeated with a 7-0 record.
Kicks blank Score
Andrew Mahoney scored five goals Saturday to spark the Kicks to a 10-0 victory over the Score in Bangor YMCA/Bangor Parks and Rec. youth soccer action. Jeff Anderson scored three goals for the Kicks, who finished the season 7-0 in the kindergarten-first grade division. Ryan Currie and William Warner each scored a goal for the winners.
