Albion defeats Mules in opener

CLEVELAND – Dave Marcinowski scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds to help lead the Albion College of Albion, Mich., men’s basketball team to a 94-81 victory over Colby College in the Great Lakes Shootout Tournament at John Carroll University Friday.

Steve Sheckell scored 19 points for 1-0 Albion and Chris Conklin added 17. Steve Hawley had 16 points and Troy Stutz scored 10.

For the White Mules, 0-1, John Daileanes led with 26 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Whitmore had 25 points. Tom Dorion added 12 points and John Rimas had 10.
