Town’s responsibility to protect

After reading the Nov. 7 letter by Andrew Scott, I felt I should also write. I recently walked in back of my house to a new road that is being built, about 150 feet from my property line, to find a bowhunter in full camouflage regalia with his bow at a ready position pointed toward my backyard. I mentioned something about being too close to which he responded, “Don’t you think I know my rights?”

I was very upset and later called the police and the Town Hall and was told there is no ordinance for bowhunting within city limits. An arrow that can kill a deer is too powerful a weapon for city limits. I live in town, not in a rural or remote area. Isn’t it the town’s official responsibility to prevent tragedies and protect its taxpayers? Liliane Kell Brewer
