FORT KENT — The Maine Bureau of Liquor Enforcement will hold a daylong training session at Fort Kent Tuesday, Nov. 27, to update sellers of alcohol on the latest state rules and regulations.
The training classes are designed to give owners, managers and employees of businesses that sell alcohol information on current state laws and tips on ways to avoid selling liquor to minors, the most common liquor violation in Maine.
Beginning at noon, the bureau’s Education and Training Office will conduct a session aimed at employees involved in retail sales of alcohol, such as those working at grocery and convenience stores and state liquor stores.
A second session will be at 6 p.m. and focus on employees of restaurants, bars and lounges. That class is for waiters, waitresses, bartenders, owners and managers.
The sessions are free. Those who plan to participate are encouraged to make reservations by calling the Maine Bureau of Liquor Enforcement in Augusta at 289-3571.
The session will be held at the town office.
