BIDDEFORD – Julie Roche scored 32 points and grabbed 11 rebothe Bates College Bobcats to an 80-69 women’s basketball victory over the University of New England here Wednesday night.

Antoinette Kenmuir-Evans chipped in with 13 points for the 1-0 winners. Cindy Ordway added 12 points, Leigh Ann Smith netted 11, and Adrienne Shibles put in 10. Smith also had 11 rebounds and Shibles had 7 steals.

Lisa Nejezchleba and Cathy Bickford paced UNE of Biddeford with 15 points each. Laurie Marcucci added 12 points.
