ELLSWORTH — Judith Bragg, president of the Ellsworth Business and Professional Women’s Club, presented a check for $500 to the Downeast Family YMCA in support of its new child-care program.

The presentation was made at a recent meeting of the Club which was held in the child care room at the Y’s new facility. Members who attended the meeting also brought gifts for use by the children including games, coloring books, paints, story books and toys.

Suitable dependent care of both the elderly and children has long been a focus issue of the Business and Professional Women’s clubs throughout the United States.

The Ellsworth Club congratulated the staff and planners of the Downeast YMCA for their foresight in including a day-care program in their facilities.
