Milo organizations prepare for annual Christmas sale

MILO — The Milo Business Association, in conjunction with the Three Rivers Ambulance Service of Milo, will sponsor the annual Christmas Sale Sunday Program from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Penquis Valley High and Middle Schools in Milo.

At the first event held last year, more than 75 exhibitors participated. This year, according to Sara Boss, general chairman, there will be more than that number. According to Boss, there will be no admission charge.

Throughout the afternoon, entertainment will be provided including employees from Libby’s Pizza of Milo demonstrating the art of throwing pizza dough, square dancing by pupils of the Brownville Elementary School, a Dixieland band conducted by Bob Gates of Millinocket, and a concert by the Penquis Valley High School Ensemble under the direction of Jack Eastman.

There also will be an exhibit of the SAD 41 Art Program throughout the corridors of the school, arranged by Sonya Harriman, middle and high school instructor, and Mary Shapleigh, elementary art instructor.

At midafternoon, Santa Claus is expected to visit the festivities with treats for the children.

Boss said the sale would feature crafters and businesses from throughout the area.

Boss and co-chairman Janet Granger of the Milo Business Association said proceeds from the booth rentals and blood pressure checkpoint donations would benefit the Three Rivers Ambulance Service of Milo, which services the area that includes Milo, Brownville, and LaGrange.
