MCI frosh boys defeat Central-EC

EAST CORINTH – Jessie Prost scored 15 points to help pace the Maine Central Institute freshmen of Pittsfield to a 66-60 victory over host Central here Tuesday. For MCI, Chris LaPlant scored 12. For 0-5 Central, McLean Poulin scored 20 points adn Willie Rivera added 15.

DI-Stonington JHS girls win

STONINGTON – Molly Haskell scored 18 points as the Deer Isle-Stonington Junior High girls basketball team defeated Brooksville Junior High 34-16 Tuesday. Rachel Santostago added 6 points for 1-2 Deer Isle-Stonington. For Brooksville, now 2-2, Deirdre Disney-Hoey led with 8 points.

DI-Stonington boys defeat Brooksville

STONINGTON – Ryan Jones scored 28 points to pace the Deer Isle-Stonington Junior High boys to victory over Brooksville Junior High 41-28 Tuesday. Deer Isle-Stonington improves to 1-2 with the win. For 2-2 Brooksville, Damon Black scored 8 points and Trevor Merrill chipped in with 7.

Rockland boys top Belfast

BELFAST – Mike Martin scored 14 points to lead the Rockland freshman boys to a 51-41 victory over Belfast here Tuesday in basketball action. For 5-0 Rockland, Jarret Widdecomb had 11 points and Anthony Madore added 10. For 1-5 Belfast, Kyle Payson and Scott Hall each had 11 points.
