For many years, it has been a standing joke that the Army assigns blacksmiths to cooking, and cooks to driving a truck. Now we have the proof.

The NEWS edition of Dec. 7 reports that Maine National Guard 112th Medical Co. is being called to active duty. In the article it mentions Sgt. Lewis Gray of Plymouth, and I quote: “Lewis, 55, is a blacksmith by trade and is one of the company’s cooks.” Max E. Place Milo
