A Deer Isle man was charged with drunken driving Saturday, according to Hancock County sheriff’s deputies.
David N. Dickinson, 45, Deer Isle, was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor after being stopped on Route 15 in Sargentville.
Gouldsboro police have charged Sherman F. Merchant II, 28, Prospect Harbor, with assault. Merchant allegedly assaulted his wife at their Pond Road home on Saturday night.
Bar Harbor police filed drug charges against two men on Friday. Charged with the unlawful trafficking in a Schedule W drug (cocaine) were Paul C. Palmer, 34, of El Dorado, Ark., and David N. Richards, 32, of Wilton.
Ellsworth police have charged Jay E. Foresman, 20, Columbia Falls, and a 16-year-old Cherryfield boy with theft by deception in connection with an incident at the Ames Department Store on Saturday. While the two were in the automotive section of the store, they allegedly took price tags off some merchandise, placed the tags on higher-priced goods and paid for the items at the lower price.
Bucksport police arrested James K. Colcord, 22, Belfast, on Saturday and charged him with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
Morten Syversen, both 41, Trenton, was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor after being stopped on Route 3 in Trenton on Saturday.
Paul E. Newman, 30, of Hot Springs, Ariz., was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor after being stopped on Route 1 in Hancock on Friday.
Scott R. Ziegler, 22, of Milwaukee, Wis., was charged with driving after suspension after being stopped on Route 1 in Hancock on Friday.
Neil G. Barrett, 42, Southwest Harbor, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking. Barrett allegedly failed to return two rental videocassette tapes to Mike’s Country Store in Ellsworth.
Ellsworth police are investigating break-ins at two camps on Northeast Cove. Burglars pried off the front door lock and stole tools at one camp, police reported. A tool shed to the camp next door was burglarized, but no property was taken from the shed.
