ROCKLAND — The weather outside may be frightful, but the members of the Chamber of Commerce already are laying plans for the 1991 tourist season.

Last year the chamber printed 65,000 copies of the booklet titled “Exploring Midcoast Maine.” Plans are being made for this year’s printing.

The brochures are available at state, regional and national organizations which include the 10 Maine Publicity Bureaus, all major chamber offices, American Automobile Association offices, the Eastern States Exposition, and the New England Vacation Center in New York City.

Chamber officials reported that more than 50,000 inquiries were received last year with an additional 20,000 visitors at the Rockland chamber office.

Those interested in advertising in the brochure should contact the chamber office. The sooner advertising requests are filed, the sooner the booklet can be available.
