UNE Knights win own tournament

BIDDEFORD – Lisa Nejezchleba scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the University of New England won its own Pepsi Knight Classic with a 72-59 win over Roger Williams College of Bristol, R.I., here Sunday.

Laurie Marcucci added 13 points for the 10-4 winners.

For the RWC Hawks, Maureen Gradley scored 17 points while Lauren Servais posted 10.

Nejezchleba was named the tournament’s MVP while Gradley was named to the all-tourney team. Other all-tourney selections were Coral Snowdeal of UNE, Jen Sullivan of Lyndon State, and Heather Weeks of Johnson State, who scored 13 points to lead her team to a 67-50 consolation game victory.
