In Gov. McKernan’s guest columnn (BDN, Jan. 4-5) he stated, “What is needed today is not finger-pointing and back-biting but foresight and the resolve to meet the challenges we now face.”
If memory serves, it was not too long ago that a man tried to tell the people of this state about the economic problems facing Maine. But he was labeled a liar and Mr. Gloom and Doom.
If the governor had any foresight he would have seen, as Joe Brennan did, that there were great problems lying ahead of this state long before the election. Perhaps the governor should use his foresight to do what would be in the best interest of this state and the people in it: Resign. Tony Richards Old Town
