WALDOBORO — The Maine Army National Guard has announced that Scott R. Swift, a resident of Waldoboro and a junior at Medomak Valley High School, enlisted into Company A, 133d Engineer Battalion, Maine Army National Guard, South Portland as an Interior Electrician on Jan. 11.

WALDOBORO — The Maine Army National Guard has announced that Scott R. Swift, a resident of Waldoboro and a junior at Medomak Valley High School, enlisted into Company A, 133d Engineer Battalion, Maine Army National Guard, South Portland as an Interior Electrician on Jan. 11.

Swift will attend basic training at Fort Dix, N.J., beginning June 27.

Under the split training option, Swift will attend his advanced training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., the next summer.

He received a $2,000 enlistment bonus, up to $10,000 with the Student Loan Repayment Program, and up to $5,040 with the new GI Bill for his education at college.
