Jamison leads Patriots to victory over Lakers

Mark Jamison poured in 29 points to lead the host Bangor Christian Patriots to a 71-60 victory over the Greenville Lakers in schoolboy basketball action at the Bangor Christian gym Monday.

Matt Andresen chipped in with 22 points for the 5-9 winners and Mark Chiavelli added 10.

Zeke Morrel and Travis Carpenter each scored 19 points for 4-7 Greenville. Eric Smith added 16 points. Morrel had 11 rebounds.

At the Bangor Auditorium, Rod Buswell scored 27 points to lead the John Bapst Crusaders to the victory over Penquis of Milo.

Greg Nichols scored 12 points for the 11-2 Crusaders. Mike Miragliuolo had 10.

For the 7-7 Patriots, Jason Mills scored 12 points.

At Fort Fairfield, Kent Willette scored 23 points and V.J. Bernier added 16 to lead the Fort Fairfield Tigers to the upset victory.

Bernier, the sixth man, sparked the Tigers with four of the team’s nine 3-pointers. Ryan Cormier chipped in with 15 points for the 4-9 winners.

Dwayne Grass paced 8-4 Lee with 20 points, Steve Coombs added 18, and Jon King put in 10.

At Easton, Carl Mullen tossed in 22 points and five other Bears reached double figures as Easton cruised to its 11th win against 4 losses.

Bud Nicholson scored 12 points for Easton, while Jerod Cronkite, Jason McLean, Garth Cronkite, and Dave Lamoreau scored 10 apiece.

For Lubec, Don Farrell was high scorer with 14.

At Sherman Station on Saturday, Matt Baker’s 18-point effort helped Washburn post its 10th win in 11 games.

Jason Theriault scored 12 points and Josh Poulin added 11 for the Beavers.

Robbie Porter keyed a balanced attack by 7-5 Katahdin with 16 points. Randy Cyr scored 13 points, while Jason Pettengill and Jason Albert added 10 each.
