ASCS office plans move to Route 90

WARREN — As of Feb. 1, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Office will be located at the Sprowl Office Building on Route 90. The ASCS and the Soil Conservation agency will move out of its present location on Route 1 in Waldoboro on Jan. 31.

The new office is about a half mile from the intersection of Route 1 and Route 90 adjacent to A.E. Sampsons and Son. The federal agencies have outgrown their office space, and the added space needed for computers made the move necessary.

An open house will be planned for spring once landscaping has been completed.

The ASCS reported that Mark Hedrich of Union was elected to the Knox County ASCS Committee. Lincoln County Voters elected Richard Spear of Nobleboro to a three-year term.

The agency reported that 329 ballots were mailed, with 97 votes cast in Knox County. Lincoln County reported 346 ballots mailed, and 107 votes cast.
